Imperiled Reef: The Fascinating, Fragile Life of a Caribbean Wonder

Intended for a general readership and due out from University of Florida Press in October 2021, Imperiled Reef is the first book to describe the geological development of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the world's second-longest barrier reef, which extends from just north of Cozumel to the Bay Islands of Honduras. The book also explores the creatures that populate this tropical wonder and the communities that depend on it. While explaining the threats this coral barrier reef faces, from climate change to sewage runoff, the book also discussees local and individual initiatives that are helping preserve it
